Holidays tend to be one of those challenges on several different levels:
coordinating schedules, meals, financing, etc.
I was blessed to be raised not only by a wonderful mother, but also a strong Christian woman. She was a single mom, so times and money were tough, but she always made the holidays memorable, because she taught us from the beginning that holidays were never about the gifts you got; they were about family, love, and most importantly, Christ!
I have numerous memories regarding our Christmas traditions growing up. Too many to even count, but every one of those memories that first pop into my mind are never about material items. They are all filled with family fun, church related activities, and the true reason for the season – Christ! I wanted those same wonderful memories for my family when I became a parent.
When I met and married my husband Tony, I was blessed in many ways. One of the most important is that I found a partner in life that also wanted strong Christian family values. We together have chosen to raise our children with many of the same traditions my mom raised me with, especially in regards to Christmas.
With Christmas fast approaching, my husband and I are beginning to organize the upcoming events that lie ahead in regards to our family traditions: baking, huge family meals, Christmas cantatas, Christmas Eve church service, and most importantly is the birth of Christ! Our family truly does believe that Christ is the reason for the season. We always make time to thank him for our many blessings, praise him, and wish him a very happy birthday. We want our
children to always know that with Christ, all things are possible. To the Correro family, Christmas is a constant reminder of that.
May you all be blessed this holiday season!
