contemplate where we have been, where we are and where we hope to be. Ask yourself ...is the world changing me, or am I changing the world?
I recall a story I heard years ago about a full grown man that had the mind and innocence of a child. He was at the mall with his church group and causing quite commotion. Some people quickly walked by in hopes of not being noticed and others stopped , watched and shared in this beautiful moment. He sang and danced with great joy and told everybody around him about his happiness. He was singing “Joy to the World, the Lord is Come.” His face, his voice and his heart were so overflowing with joy he couldn’t keep it to himself. He shared his love, God’s love, with everybody that day. I know the world didn’t change him that day but I bet he started changing the world himself one person at a time in the name of the Lord.
Heavenly Father, we thank you that you desire to do things this season in us and through us. We ask today for you to give us the heart of a child, Your child. Help us to see your work in our lives and in the world around us. Open our eyes to see it, embrace it and share it with others. Help us not to only expect the unexpected but to seek it and praise You for it. Amen
